Our story

Kim Conti founded Orbit Crates as a busy, working mom trying to balance quality time with her kids, work, and managing a household. She recognized the vicious cycle so many parents face trying to organize, cleanup, and manage household toys. At the same time, her kids were overwhelmed with options, yet bored. They lacked the novelty of discovering something new. She was also dismayed by the rampant consumerism that plagues our culture and society. She talked to countless parents and recognized this is a pervasive issue.

Orbit Crates is addressing all of these issues starting from within our home. She also hopes this company makes an impact on global consumerism and helps protect the environment for future generations. Orbit Crates is revolutionizing our relationship with toys, deepening the bonds we have with kids, and making a global impact.

Kim leverages her 20 year career in AI tech startups, product management, operations, and customer experience to bring expertise to Orbit Crates. She resides in Connecticut with her husband, three kids, and these days... a lot less clutter.

Partners in Hope

Did you know that the US makes up 3% of the world's children and consume 40% of the world's toys? We not only believe in reducing toy consumption, but also in distributing toy equity. That's why we are proud to partner with The Hope Foundation by Anna Kobylarz based in CT. This organization helps local families in need as well as orphanages overseas.

Orbit Crates is happy to donate a portion of our inventory to spreading joy to kids in need. Proceeds from every rental also goes to this mission.

Reducing clutter

Less is More

Research shows that the fewer toys kids have the deeper and longer they play. For families, too, we know that visual clutter can cause stress for parents and kids alike. Parents don't need more "invisible work" like managing bins and bins of toys. We need less to begin with so that we can focus on what really matters. By renting with Orbit Crates, we enable families to significantly reduce the amount they have to manage to more deeply engage.
